School breakfast program expanded through grant
Dedham Schools recently received a grant from Amazon for $7,500, which was used to purchase a breakfast and milk cart, according to Jeanne Johnson, director of school nutrition. These will be used to deliver breakfast to the classroom for schools such as Oakdale, which have a breakfast program but lack a cafeteria. Project Bread has provided technical assistance with breakfast promotion among parents and students to increase participation in the program.
