School Breakfast Grants from Project Bread

Project Bread has three grant opportunities available for schools and districts across Massachusetts for the 2018-2019 school year that aim to increase participation in school breakfast and improve the quality of breakfast items served. Schools are eligible to apply for one of these opportunities; districts may apply for more than one. If you need assistance determining which best suits your school or have questions regarding any of the grants, feel free to contact the CNOP team at  CNOP@projectbread.org.

Healthy School Breakfast Grant

Moving breakfast outside of the cafeteria can sometimes decrease the quality of food served to students. This grant is aimed at schools looking to serve healthier breakfast options that are lower in sugar and salt, higher in fiber, and are fresh over processed. In addition to incentivizing schools to serve healthier breakfast items, support will be available from Project Bread’s Chefs in Schools program through training workshops and menu assistance.

How to apply: Complete the grant application form and email to cnop@projectbread.org.

Breakfast for All Incentive Grant

Offering free meals to all students through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) or Provision 2 has the opportunity to increase participation and reduce stigma attached to school meal programs. The purpose of this grant is to incentivize schools and/or districts to adopt either CEP or Provision 2, enabling them to offer school breakfast free-of-charge to all students. This grant is aimed at schools or districts that are eligible or near eligible for CEP or are interested in enrolling in Provision 2. CNOP can help you determine your eligibility for CEP.
