Project Bread Summer Eats Grants

Project Bread’s Summer Eats grants support implementation and expansion of Summer Eats (the USDA Summer Food Service Program) in Massachusetts. For over ten years, we have offered grants to promote new sites and strategies to reach more kids and teens. Our goal is to ensure that all children in Massachusetts remain nourished throughout the summer months, when school meals are not available. This year, funding will be prioritized for sponsors utilizing grants for the following activities, however, all grant applications will be considered.

  • Farm to Summer Eats activities
  • Promotion and outreach
  • Meal sites at libraries, low-income housing properties, farmers markets and other non-traditional locations
  • Community-led engagement efforts and open sites

Who is Eligible: New or existing sponsors in Massachusetts. Note: While sites are not eligible for funding, we encourage sponsors to work with current and potential sites to develop grant proposals that meet the needs of their communities.

How to apply: Review the requirements and funding priorities then complete the grant application form available here.

Deadline to Apply: Applications are due by March 31, 2019 and notification of funding decisions will be made by April 15, 2019.
