Federal Child Nutrition Policy

Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act 2010

In December 2010, President Obama passed the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act. This bill, called The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, authorizes federal funding for all school meals and child nutrition programs including WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) and CAFCP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). These programs provide funding to ensure that low income children have access to nutritious, healthy foods.
