School Breakfast Calculator: A Financial Assessment Tool

The Child Nutrition Outreach Program has created a school breakfast calculator to help you assess the financial viability of your school breakfast program.

What does the calculator do?

Forecasts the cost of starting a school breakfast program. Shows school nutrition directors, business managers, principals, and superintendents the financial implications of offering breakfast to all students free of charge. Looks at breakfast revenues with and without extra state reimbursements, including universal breakfast funds and state mandated funds. Projects breakfast revenues and expenditures following a breakfast model change in an individual school.
